NEWSTECH
India's First Facsimile Transmission System
The year was 1986 and India's demand for newspaper publishing was growing owing to a rapidly increasing literacy rate. Newstech, sensing a need for quick and easy information transfer partnered with USA based CHEMCO to launch India's first Full Newspaper Page Facsimile Transmission System. This technology was first adopted by publishing giant, and innovation leader, The Malayala Manorama, Kottayam. This marked the beginning of a long term relationship focused on the introduction of bleeding edge international technologies aimed at reducing costs, manpower, and variability. Newstech also launched Mailroom Systems from IDAB WAMAC, Sweden in India in the same year. In 1994 Newstech proceeded to introduce Automatic Ink Pumping Systems from BETZ Technologies, Germany for Web-offset Presses.
